Editor?s Message

By Frank Casey

A new year has dawn and with it comes the latest edition of our ACBNY newsletter. I hope your holidays were pleasant and that the new year has started off on a positive note for all.

It was a pleasure chatting with those who attended the recent ACBNY legislative weekend in Albany. We had some younger folks in attendance. This is great as it lends ?new blood? to our organization. Could these new arrivals be our future leaders?

I'd like to pay tribute to a person who left our ACB family on February 1, 2008. Clint Moore, Father of newsletter committee member Don Moore passed away in Florida in a hospice facility after a lengthy illness. Clint, a sighted person, was an important part of the ACB endeavor. He served as Secretary of the Capital District ACB chapter in the 1980?s. Even after retiring to Florida, he was active with ACB in Florida. Along with being devoted to ACB, Clint was a great husband to his wife, Ruth, and a fine father to his sons. Clint will be dearly missed and we ask that you keep the Moore family in your thoughts and prayers, as they mourn the loss of a man who will always be dear to them as he was to us.

Please keep in mind that your newsletter editor is always looking for articles from our readers. Did you get a new ?toy? for Christmas? Did you take an interesting trip over the holidays? We?d like to hear about it. It might be trivial to you but interesting to the rest of our readers. So, please, let us hear from you.

For those receiving the newsletter on cassette tape, please remember to return the tape to your editor after listening to the newsletter, using the return address label enclosed with the tape.

Finally, the deadline for the next edition of your ACBNY newsletter is May 1st, 2008.

Now, enjoy the rest of your newsletter.
